The best time to schedule your session is before your little one is born. This way you can rest assured that your Newborn session will occur within 2 weeks of birth, the very best time to get the sweetest photographs! My weekly calendar fills up quickly and I only take on a limited number of newborns each month. Let’s make sure that we have your session on the calendar before the birth so that you don’t have to think about it once the baby is born.

Your due date will be your session date so that we can be sure that you are on my calendar for that month. Once your baby is born and you are ready to go home, all you have to do is send me an email, and from there we’ll schedule a definitive session date and time within the first 7-12 days of your baby’s arrival. Once you book your newborn photoshoot session, I’ll send you a detailed email with all the information you need to know including scheduling once the baby is here, what you can expect from your session, how to prep yourself and your baby and other helpful insights and tips.

The sooner the better! Newborns tend to stay sound asleep a few days after birth and because of this, we can gently move your little one into sweet poses. After a couple of weeks, this is not as easy to do. After the 14-day mark, babies begin to stretch and the poses won’t be as easy to accomplish.

Your session will take between 1 hour to-2.5 hours, depending on the type of session you book. Pausing to allow times for feeding and changing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable, and the pace of our session will be determined by the baby.

If I have an opening on my calendar, I am happy to accommodate. Most often, however, I am booked out months in advance. Also, I highly recommend to scheduled in advance always.

You will receive your images 2-3 weeks from your session date and be able to view and download them in an online gallery set up just for you! After you receive your gallery, we can set up a call to place your prints and products order.

Your session will take place in my private and cozy Silver Spring photography studio. Just bring yourself and your little bundle of joy and rest assured that the studio is fully stocked with all the necessary props, toiletries, and snacks to keep you comfortable throughout your session. I do! You will find a large supply of hats, headbands, wraps, blankets and props that we can play within my studio.

I want you to feel comfortable so I suggest wearing clothes that you can move freely in. I also recommend soft-toned, solid colors, avoiding loud prints and patterns so that we can keep the focus on the baby. If you would like a more traditional look, a black t-shirt is a nice choice, but I have found that many of my clients like a more modern, light, and airy look with soft and muted colors.

Generally, between 28-36 weeks is best, but every momma is different. Once you see that Rockin baby bump appear, you’re ready so it’s best to schedule your shoot in advance and photograph your session between the 28-36 weeks period.

I want you to feel beautiful and comfortable so it’s good to choose clothes that inspire you to feel your very best in your maternity pictures. I really love to capture your gorgeous form so choosing outfits that accentuate your body is recommended. Luky Robles Photography has gowns available, but you are welcome to bring your own Gowns/Outfits.

Professional hair and make-up DO make a difference in maternity photos. I know this is a beautiful but stressful time in your life and hiring someone to do your hair and makeup for your shoot is a wonderful way to pamper yourself so that you don’t have to worry about it. If this isn’t in your budget, stores like MAC and Ulta can be helpful. If you do your own make-up, date night makeup works like a dream.

This is a very natural and normal feeling that most mommas-to-be experience, especially with their first pregnancy. You are growing a little baby inside of your body and with that comes a lot of changes to your own body. I’ve been there and I completely understand. Through my lens I see these changes as miraculous and gorgeous and my number one priority as a professional photographer is to make you feel and LOOK your best during our time together. So, rest assured you will look gorgeous in your photographs.

Your Session will be a joyful, meaningful, and comfortable experience. Before we begin, I will review a few key elements such as posing and interacting with your significant other or children, so you have some direction. If your children are in the session, I’ll take some time to get to know them so that they feel comfortable with me. My intention is for these sessions to be a fun experience for everyone involved, including your kiddos. I will guide you through some poses and aim to capture beautiful moments of interaction, I always start photographing the family poses first because the kiddos get tired. It’s these little moments between you and your family that you will cherish forever.
